A multi-million dinar investment in Bahrain’s ports infrastructure saw the opening of the new Shaikh Khalifa Port in Hidd. The 46 year old operations at Mina Salman Port restricted expansion and the facility was no longer in scale with modern shipping requirements.
Working with Bahrain’s General Organisation of Sea Ports, Vision created two commemorative books for the initiative. The first, entitled “Bahrain Ports, Past Present and Future” is a text heavy, researched volume covering the wider macro economics of Gulf shipping, the history of Mina Salman and detailed chapters covering Bahrain’s maritimes services infrastructure, logistics zones, industrial areas and air ports. The second, “Tribute to the Two Seas”, is a commemorative pictorial book, provided to guests to mark the official opening of the new Shaikh Khalifa Port.
The new facility offers deep draft berthage for the significantly larger vessels of the 21st century and enjoys a new, seamless motorway link to the lucrative markets of Saudi Arabia, providing potential for robust growth in transhipping services to the northern Gulf markets.
